As part of Professional Development, Perkerson Elementary School hosted a group of local judges and D.A.'s that participate in a Reading Mentorship program with 3th-4th grade boys.
Kennesaw State University professors Sherry Hillman and Cherry Stefan, initiated an program to connect gardening to all curriculum areas.
In partnership with Delta Dental, Perkerson Elementary students (Pre-K- 1st grade) were able to experience "El Ratoncito Perez", the tooth fairy's Latin friend.
Our first Wonderful Wednesday was a great success! Over a dozen parents and family members came to school to participate in and observe student learning and enrichment activities. Each month Perkerson will engage family members in our school activities from office assistant to classroom engagement to general school support.
Atlanta Public Schools parents are encouraged to participate in the Georgia Parent Survey administered by the Georgia Department of Education. Data from the Georgia Parent Survey will be used along with the Georgia Student Health Survey and the Georgia School Personnel Survey to calculate the School Climate Star Rating within the College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI).
The Georgia Parent Survey has 20 questions and should take no more than 5 - 10 minutes to complete it. Data results from the Georgia Parent Survey will not be available to the public and will not be posted online.
