WHAT IS 21ST CENTURY ATLANTA SCHOLARS?

As a part of the K12 College & Career Readiness Department initiative, 21^st Century Atlanta Scholars (CAS) supports and places high achieving low income students from Atlanta Public Schools into some of our nation’s top colleges and universities such as:

Amherst College	Bowdoin College	Colby College
College of the Holy Cross	Davidson College	Hamilton College
Hampshire College	Middlebury College	Oberlin College
Tufts University	Wellesley College	Wesleyan University

21^st Century Atlanta Scholars provides: Application Process Support, College Decision Process Support, Enrollment Support, and College Support. More specifically, we offer services such as a broader range of college exposure, strategies to selecting reach, target and safety colleges, SAT prep, interview skills, essay writing sessions, college visit workshops and life skills workshops such as self-advocacy with professors, time and money management skills and conflict resolution and more. Therefore, 21^st Century Atlanta Scholars program uses a holistic approach to providing both college readiness and college support, promoting more options and great opportunities for its participants.

WHY DOES 21ST CAS EXIST?

Students should be given choices for college
Many students from public schools need extra support when applying to the best colleges in the country
There are incredibly bright students in Atlanta Public Schools who deserve the same chance to go to the best colleges in the country as students from other districts
Learning outside the classroom about different cultures and geographies can be as important as what is learned within the classroom.
Passion and frustration come from the same source and can yield a common goal
Most importantly, we wanted to ensure that students, parents, and families were identifying and considering their options fully
