Grady Cluster Adopts College-Career Prep
The Grady Cluster Planning Committee was charged with determining a signature theme for our cluster. The final choice, made unanimously by the committee and based upon the experience of our principals and community feedback, was College and Career Preparatory. The presentation from the May 13 community meeting at Jackson High School explains why this decision was made and next steps.  This choice was made with the desire to have the flexibility to build upon our cluster's strengths and to close gaps more quickly by not completely starting over. By creating our own framework the committee believes we will be able to use our new and future allocated cluster resources more efficiently to drive more impact in the classrooms. The specifics of the framework are being developed but will incorporate concepts and best practices of IB and STEM/STEAM, as well as build upon our already successful AP, CTAE, and arts programs.

  • APS Pilots Online Enrollment System Beginning July 6

Atlanta Public Schools is piloting during July 6-10, 2015 an online enrollment system that parents can use to enroll new students online, when and where it is most convenient for them, and in just a few minutes.  Parents will have the ability to enter the student’s enrollment information and securely upload documents before visiting the school to finalize enrollment.

The online enrollment system allows parents to pre-populate their child's enrollment information and confidentially upload scans or PDFs of forms like birth certificates or immunization records to create their preliminary enrollment record. The system also uses the information to determine the student's neighborhood school and can forward it directly to the school or enrollment site.  Parents will then visit the school or enrollment site to complete the process and present residency documents and student documents, such as certified birth certificates, social security cards and immunization records, to staff to review and confirm their authenticity.

  • Infinite Campus Parent and Student Portal

    CPP Login Page:

Parents of students in grades K–12 have access to class schedules, attendance records and grades by Campus Portal for Parents (CPP) which is an easy-to-use, secure communications tool. Additionally, CPP enables parents to verify household information, including their email address, home address and telephone numbers.
Contact your child’s school to get your CPP activation key. Parents are required to  request the CPP activation key in person. To ensure that all student information remains secure, parents must provide a valid photo ID (driver’s license, state ID card, or passport) before receiving the CPP activation key.  Once parents receive the activation key, they can visit to create a unique username and password.

  • The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) affords parents and students who are 18 years of age or older ("eligible students") certain rights with respect to the student's education records.  These rights include the right to provide written consent before the school discloses personally identifiable information (PII) from the student's education records, except to the extent that FERPA authorizes disclosure without consent.

One exception which permits disclosure without consent is disclosure to school officials with legitimate educational interests.  A school official is a person employed by the school as an administrator, supervisor, instructor, or support staff member (including health or medical staff and law enforcement unit personnel) or a person serving on the school board.  A school official also may include a volunteer or contractor outside of the school who performs an institutional service of function for which the school would otherwise use its own employees and who is under the direct control of the school with respect to the use and maintenance of PII from education records, such as an attorney, auditor, medical consultant, or therapist; a parent or student volunteering to serve on an official committee, such as a disciplinary or grievance committee; or a parent, student, or other volunteer assisting another school official in performing his or her tasks.  A school official has a legitimate educational interest if the official needs to review an education record in order to fulfill his or her professional responsibility.

Also, upon request, the school discloses education records without consent to officials of another school district in which a student seeks or intends to enroll, or is already enrolled if the disclosure is for purposes of the student’s enrollment or transfer.

For more information about Student Records and disclosures, including directory information, please refer to the Student Handbook, and Board Policy JR and Administrative Regulation JR-1(R).
