Our focus is to ensure that social studies is meaningful, real and authentic for all students. We are challenged to increase our students' knowledge about the world as they strive to find resolutions to global problems that transcend national borders. Our goal is to help our students be equipped to confront, discuss and address world events.
Common Core State Standards Networking Conference (July 15-17, 2013)
The Common Core State Standards Networking Conference is a first-of-its-kind event that will feature proven tools and strategies for implementing the Common Core State Standards and other rigorous standards through the Literacy Design Collaborative (LDC) and the Mathematics Design Collaborative (MDC).
Teacher, school, district and state leader teams who are currently engaged (or just interested) in using these revolutionary frameworks to advance students’ grade-level mastery of advanced literacy and math skills across content areas should attend. The LDC and MDC are creating a shift in teaching and learning that can help your students take ownership of assignments and perform at higher levels. This event will show you how to maximize this student-centered approach.
You will benefit from a variety of session types to meet the diverse needs of participants. Most importantly, the conference will create an exciting, open-learning environment for collaboration, networking and sharing sessions to improve student achievement through the LDC and the MDC strategies and tools to support the implementation of the Common Core State Standards.
