Our dedicated staff works tirelessly to assure the Adamsville Community's students will have excellence as they move from one grade to another. Professional Staff Pre-K Ms. Christie Hicks Christie Turner Hicks was educated in the public schools of Atlanta, Georgia. She has over 20 years of experience as an early childhood educator. Her college education started in Interior Design at Howard University and culminated at the University of Georgia. Later, Ms. Hicks attended Georgia State University and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education. She began her teaching career as a first grade teacher in Atlanta Public Schools and also taught Kindergarten, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. Ms. Hicks is certified in the Reading Recovery Program. Currently she is the Pre-K Lead Teacher. Kindergarten Ms. Brenda Adkins badkins@atlanta.k12.ga.us Ms. Adkins attended California State University at Long Beach with a degree in Business Administration and worked in the Aerospace industry in Human Resources Management. She entered the education field and holds a Master’s degree in Educational School Counseling and a Certificate for Pupil Personnel Services at National University. Ms. Adkins has served children over twenty years in different capacities as an elementary teacher and as a middle and high school support teacher. . Ms. Amatulmuid Anderson aaanderson@atlanta.k12.ga.us Ms. Marcie Jackson Ms. Jackson graduated from Spelman in 2005. She is currently working on her master's degree in instructional technology. First Grade Ms. Dyphia Fair Mrs. Fair has been an educator for seventeen years. Her first three years were in Clayton County as an interrelated teacher. The past fourteen years she has taught in Atlanta as an interrelated and general education teacher. Mr. Michael Barnes Mr. Barnes has been in corporate America for the past twenty years and has changed careers to help produce as many noteworthy and socially responsible students for the global marketplace as possible. This is his first year as a first-grade teacher. He has spent the past two years tutoring Atlanta Public Schools students for CRCT prepartion. Ms. Indira Watkins Second Grade Mrs. Patricia Dailey-Griffin Mrs. Dailey-Griffin has been an educator for 33 1/2 years. She taught for the Bartow County School System for 2 years. During her tenure, she taught reading and math for grades 1-5. She has been teaching the last 31 1/2 years for the Atlanta Public School System. She taught at Dobbs and Slater elementary. She is now educating children at Adamsville Elementary School in the 2nd grade. She will proudly retire after this 2011-2012 academic school year. She was educated in the Gwinnett County School System and received her bachelors degree at Morris Brown College. Ms. Brenda Jackson Ms. Jackson was educated in the New York school system and hold a Masters in Education. She has been teaching at Adamsville for 18 years. Ms. Latonia Marbuary Ms. Marbruary is a native of Atlanta and is a product of the Atlanta Public Schools. She received her teaching degree at Clark Atlanta University and been teaching for 18 years. Ms. Monique Bruce mbruce@atlanta.k12.ga.us Ms. Bruce attended the University of South Florida. She has been teaching for nine years which has been in Atlanta Public Schools. She currently holds a teaching certificate in Pre K through 6th grade in Elementary Education. Ms. Bruce lived in Tampa for ten years before making Atlanta her home. Ms. Mary Morris Ms. Morris holds Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice from West Georgia College. I worked with Juvenile Delinquents for 8 years. Her master’s degree is in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University. She is currently working on her Educational Specialist Degree in Reading from Nova Southeastern University. Mr. James Wilborn Mr. Wilborn graduated from Westlake High School in 2001. He later received his B.A. degree in Early Childhood Education from Morehouse College in 2006. He has been a member of the Adamsville family as a third grade teacher for six years. Mr. Wilborn is currently working on his master’s degree in Instructional Technology at Saint Joseph’s University online graduate program. Fourth Grade Ms. Cristina Ciprian-Matthews CCMatthews@atlanta.k12.ga.us Ms. Ciprian-Matthews is a product of the publis school systems of both New York and New Jersey. She attended Columbia University in the City of New York and recieved her B.A. degree in Comparative Ethnic Studies. In 2010 she joined Teach for America and has been teaching 4th grade at Adamsville for the past 2 years. Ms. Donna Delgado Mr. Gregorey Thomas gthomas@atlanta.k12.ga.us Mr. Thomas graduated from Green B. Trimble Technical High School in 1994. He received a music scholarship from Fifth Grade Ms. Ivory Sebastion isebastion@atlanta.k12.ga.us Ms. Sebastion began teaching in 2008 upon joining Teach For America. In 2009, she attended Georgia State University and completed the Urban Accelerated Certification Program in 2010. Then in 2011, she completed a Mathematics endorsement in Early Childhood Education. She has been teaching for the past four years at Adamsville Elementary School as a 2nd and 5th grade teacher. She has been teaching the 5th grade for the past two years. Mrs. Deborah Oliver dsoliver@atlanta.k12.ga.us Mrs. Olver graduated from Kennesaw State University in 2008 with a B.S. in Early Childhood Education. The 2011-2012 school year will be her fourth year teaching at Adamsville Elementary School. Sh taught 4thgrade for her first two years, and this will be her second year teaching 5thgrade. IShe is currently working on her Master’s degree in Reading, Language, and Literacy with an ESOL endorsement. This degree will be finished in December 2012. Ms. Tracey Mott tmott@atlanta.k12.ga.us She has been teaching for over 14 years and began her teaching career in the School district of Philadelphia teaching 7th grade middle school Language Arts/Social Studies. She later moved to New jersey and taught for over 8 years in the Kingsway school district teaching 7th/8th grade English. When she first moved to Georgia over a year ago, she began teaching 5th grade in the Henry county School district. Program for Exceptional Children Ms. Andrea Dockery Ms. Dockery is the Special Education Lead Teacher for Adamsville Elementary school. She currently teaches interrelated students with various disabilities including autism, intellectual disabilities, specific learning disabilities, other health impairments and behavior disorders. This is her 5th year at Adamsville Elementary. Ms. Margaret Rankins mrankins@atlanta.k12.ga.us Ms. Rankins has been a teacher for 24 years and is a graduate of Morris Brown College majoring in Special Education. She received a Masters Degree in Special Education at Atlanta University and a Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln University. She has worked with students with disabilities including the Mildly Intellectuals, Learning Intellectuals, and a few with Behavior Disorders. She currently teaching the students with Moderate Disabilities. Ms. Edna Wilson ewilson@atlanta.k12.ga.us Ms. Wilson is a graduate Atlanta Public Schools.She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mental Retardation (K-12) from Morris Brown College.She received a PNA (Private Nursing Assistant) Diploma from Atlanta Public Schools Continuing Education Program at Archer High School and Reading Endorsement Certification through Metro RESA. She was a fulltime Paraprofessional working with children with disabilities for 10 years at Blair Village Elementary and Herndon Elementary before starting her teaching career at Tull Waters Elementary School as a Self-Contained Severe Intellectually Disabled Primary (SID) Teacher in grades K-2. She is now a Self-Contained Moderately Intellectually Disabled (MOID) Primary Teacher in grades K-3. She has been with Atlanta Public Schools for 26 years. Specialists Mr. Derrick Albritton Physical Education Ms. Lucy Allen School Pyschologist Ms. Evelyn Osorio eosorio@atlanta.k12.ga.us Ms. Osorio is a graduate of Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. Her majors were in Special Education and Spanish. She taught Special Education in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico before teaching in Atlanta Public Schools. She has been teaching Georgia for 11 years. She currently teaches Spanish for grades Pre-K through fifth grade. Spanish Ms. Cynthia Baird-Cambell (Wednesday-Friday) cbcampbell@atlanta.k12.ga.us Ms. Campbell is an Atlanta Public School Master Teacher for the Visual Arts. She is a Graduate of Rollins College with a Bachelor of Arts degree with duel majors in Theatre Arts and Art History. She received her Masters of Art Education from The University of South Florida. She taught in Florida (Polk and Manatee County Schools) before locating to the Atlanta area. Prior to accepting a job with Atlanta Public Schools she taught Art at a small K-8 Atlanta parochial school and in Southside schools for Fulton County Schools. She has been teaching Art to students from Pre-K to 12 for 23 years. Mr. Russell Kennedy (Monday & Tuesday) Art Mr. Patrick Crabtree pcrabtree@atlanta.k12.ga.us Mr. Crabtree is a Graduate of Texas State University with a Batchelor of Science degree majoring in Art K-12 and Elementary Education. He received his Masters of Elementary Education from Alabama State University. Additional coursework was completed at Wright State University in Ohio. He has taught in Mobile County Schools and Randolph County Schools before moving to Atlanta Public Schools. He has been teaching for over 24 years.
