Dear Parents and Students:
I would like to welcome you all back to school this year. As new principal, I am thrilled to take over the reign of Dr. Jones who did a great job during his tenure here. Hopefully you found plenty of time to have fun and enjoy your summer vacation. I am truly honored to be appointed to this position and am looking forward to working with the dedicated staff to provide the best possible educational program for our students.
The parent-student handbook provides important information about our school’s mission, vision, procedures, and policies. It is a guide to the way we operate as a school. Also included in the handbook are behavioral expectations and guidelines for students. There have been some changes since last year, so please read the handbook carefully, especially the discipline section, and use it as a reference throughout the year.
Consistent and clear communication with parents is essential to student success at CHSR. This handbook is only the start. Our monthly newsletter will inform parents of special events going on in our school. The newsletter will be sent via email to parents and will be available on our website also. We will have a PTSA meeting in August. This is a great opportunity to become more involved in your child’s education. We encourage you to volunteer in the school as well.
My greatest initiative is to provide the leadership that will facilitate a school environment to provide differentiated instruction to meet the needs of each student to the best of our ability. The educational program must be academically challenging, engage each student by linking the curriculum to previous knowledge and experience, and also exciting to promote further exploration of ideas. Parents, teachers, support staff, and administration all have an important role to encourage our children to become active learners. It is my sincere desire to provided expanded opportunities for our students to acquire the skills to become productive citizens in a vastly changing society.
Through a close and collegial partnership with everyone associated with Carver School of Health Sciences and Research, I am confident we can make our school an even better place for our students to learn and grow.
