Welcome to the 2013-2014 school year here at D. H. Stanton Elementary. The excitement is in the air with our staff and students for a new beginning.
Our major initiative is the implementation of the Dual Immersion Program, with Spanish being our language of choice at the Kindergarten level. Select Kindergarten students will have an opportunity to learn all their subjects, from math to reading and vocabulary, both in Spanish and English this year. As students matriculate from K-5 in dual immersion, these students will leave elementary school reading, writing, and speaking Spanish fluently.
We will continue to implement the Georgia Common Core Performance Standards and use data to inform instruction and decision making. Additionally,we will continue our implementation of “The Leader in Me”.
At D. H. Stanton, we believe that the most effective education for your child comes from a partnership between the home, school, and the community. Many opportunities exist for all of us to share in the involvement in educating children and we invite you to take advantage of these opportunities throughout the school year.
All of us at D. H. Stanton are very proud of our school, students, staff, parents and community. We strive to provide our students with a well-rounded and meaningful educational experience geared to each child’s learning potential. We are all looking forward to a happy and successful school year.
Thank you for your continued support. I am always available to talk with parents and students and to help as needed to ensure the success of our students. Please do not hesitate to call or stop by to meet with me.
Remember, together we can provide a positive and exciting experience for your child.
